Jesse Mark Chellan appointed general manager of Virbac RSA

Virbac announces the appointment of Jesse Mark Chellan as general manager of Virbac RSA. Based in Johannesburg, he is effective in his role since December 1, 2016. He will be responsible for the development and execution of the long term business strategy for both South Africa and for the export regions of Southern and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Jesse will be responsible for maximizing the Virbac business and finding innovative solutions in diverse markets with differing socio economic and political circumstances. The region covers all species areas and offers significant potential for expansion and development both in the commercial and subsistence markets. The position will cover all key business disciplines including the manufacturing facility.
Jesse concluded his schooling at Michaelhouse College in South Africa and University studies included a Bachelor of Science Degree followed by a Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Durban/Westville. Further, Jesse earned Leadership Development qualification from the Gordon Institute of Business Studies (GIBS).

Jesse Mark Chellan replaces John Embling in his role. John has been appointed earlier in the year general manager for Australia and regional director for Sanza (South Africa, New Zealand and Australia). He will be based permanently in Sydney.

With 17 years in industry, Jesse has attained experience in both human and animal health. From 1990 to 1996, Jesse Mark Chellan has been working for Adcock Ingram. Then he headed several departments in Novartis Animal Health (logistics, export, sales and marketing). Between 2005 and 2008, he was group marketing manager at Pfizer Animal Health. Since 2009, he occupied several positions of management in KZN and Dolphins Cricket, Warriors and Eastern Province Cricket and lastly International Cricket Council.
Jesse concluded his schooling at Michaelhouse College in South Africa and University studies included a Bachelor of Science Degree followed by a Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Durban/Westville. Further, Jesse earned Leadership Development qualification from the Gordon Institute of Business Studies (GIBS).

John Embling joined Virbac in 2009 as general manager of Virbac RSA, after having spent 10 years in Pfizer in various management positions in South Africa and Europe, including UK and Ireland vice presidency. Under his leadership, Virbac RSA has sustainably developed in one of the strongest contributors to Apisa (Asia, Pacific, India and South Africa) performance.
